Zakinthos

The approximately 406 km2 island is densely populated and surprisingly diverse; abrupt cliff-lined coasts and a 758 m high plateau in the west, lush, fertile and delightful landscapes in the east. This is where the capital of the island (also called Zakinthos) with approximately 12000 inhabitants is located. The island of Zakinthos is just 16 km away from the west coast of the great Peloponnese peninsula, which is a tempting destination for excursions. But the island has more to offer, namely some of the most beautiful beaches in all Greece!
