Samos

This green, forested island stretches over 476 km2 and is separated from the Turkish coast by a mere 2 km wide strait. In spite of this, Samos is a typically Greek island. Mountains, cypress and pine forests, a fascinating wild flora, silver shimmering olive groves and green vineyards characterise this island, as well as the picturesque villages with snow-white houses and narrow alleys. Most of the island’s sand and gravel beaches are situated in beautiful bays.
