Kittilä, in the heart of Finnish Lapland, is the ideal starting point for winter adventures in the far north. Beginning in November, this area offers nothing less than a picture-postcard winter – plenty of snow and crisp cold temperatures. But the landscape in which the log cabins are set is far from monotonous. In the tundra at Saariselkä, for instance, you will encounter vast, practically treeless open spaces. The beautifully located Jeris and authentic Luosto await you with a romantic winter atmosphere, while the lively, almost worldly ski resort of Levi has the most colourful night life to offer north of the Arctic Circle. The pretty village of Äkäslompolo, embedded between soft hills, is particularly popular among Swiss guests.
