The Company
Edelweiss Air AG was founded on October 19th, 1995 in Bassersdorf. The objective of the company is to offer high quality service to Charter airline customers. Edelweiss Air achieves this through lean management, specialised technical and organisational know-how, cost efficiency and with a team of 240 motivated staff members. At present, the company’s share capital amounts to CHF 3’500’000.--. The shares are not listed on the stock exchange. Edelweiss Air is a 100% subsidiary of Kuoni Travel Ltd. Every year it flies 720’000 passengers to their holiday destinations.
Right from the first financial year with Nik Grob as CEO the airline has ended every year in the black. In 2001, Nick Grob handed over the management of Edelweiss Air to Karl Kistler. The airline charters out the main part of its transportation capacity - principally used in the beach holiday segment - to Kuoni Travel Ltd.
Edelweiss Air’s motto is: “Flying the Swiss way”. The airline’s trumps are its dependability, punctuality and friendliness. Edelweiss Air guarantees reliable and professional flight operations and Charter air traffic with the best price-performance ratio.
In 2001 to 2007 Edelweiss Air received every year the golden Travelstar Award for its excellent achievements.
